Just had Rejuran and wondering what to put on your face tonight? Less than you think. In Korea, where these salmon-DNA injections are as routine as a facial, the home-care rule is simple: soothe, repair, protect, and leave everything else in the drawer for a few days.
Quick answer
- Day 0: gentle cleanse, a plain soothing gel or panthenol serum, then a fragrance-free barrier cream. No makeup.
- Days 1–5: keep it to soothing + ceramide cream + mineral sunscreen. Skip acids, scrubs and harsh soap.
- Bumps from the injections usually settle within one to two days.
- Retinol, strong vitamin C, exfoliants: only after redness, heat and stinging are completely gone.
- Your clinic’s own instructions always win over any blog, including this one.
First, what Rejuran actually is (and why aftercare is so minimal)
Rejuran Healer is a Korean “skin booster”: tiny injections of polynucleotides (PN, often grouped with PDRN) extracted from salmon DNA, placed across the face in a grid. One Japanese clinic that offers it lists the Healer formula at about 2% polynucleotide. It isn’t a filler. The idea is a gradual improvement in skin quality, which is why clinics talk about results over weeks, not days.
That timeline is the key to aftercare. The product is already working under the skin. Your job at home isn’t to “boost” it with ten serums. It’s to keep the surface calm while dozens of tiny injection points close up.
Rejuran does its work under the skin for weeks. Your only job at home is to not get in its way.
Rejuran aftercare, day by day
Clinics differ, and one Singapore review of the treatment puts it plainly: post-treatment care “may vary from patient to patient.” But Korean aftercare guides and clinic Q&As line up on the broad strokes. Here’s how that looks as a calendar.
Day 0: treatment night
Expect a field of small raised bumps (one dermatologist’s page counts 40–60 of them), plus some redness, heat or stinging. Cleanse with water or the mildest cleanser you own, pat dry, and apply a plain soothing layer followed by a fragrance-free barrier cream. Skip makeup. Many clinics also tell you to avoid heat and heavy sweating, so tonight isn’t the night for the gym, a hot bath or drinks.
Days 1–2: the bumps settle
Clinic sources consistently say the bumps subside within one to two days; bruising is less common but can take longer. Keep repeating soothe + repair, two or three times a day if your skin feels tight. Add a mineral (zinc oxide) sunscreen any time you go outside, and don’t rub or scrub.
Days 3–5: still sensitive, even if it looks fine
This is where people slip. Your face looks normal, so the toner pads come back out. One aesthetic doctor’s answer on a Singapore clinic Q&A recommends avoiding harsh soaps and strong acids or abrasives for three to five days, until the skin settles. Light hydration (a heartleaf toner, a hyaluronic acid cream) is fine.
Week 1 and beyond: back to normal, slowly
Korean travel-beauty platform Creatrip gives a useful rule for retinol after any dermatology procedure: wait until redness, heat, stinging and sensitivity have fully settled, and don’t restart retinal, exfoliants or strong vitamin C too early. Bring them back one at a time, and keep daily SPF going until your next session.

What Koreans actually reach for
Hwahae, Korea’s biggest ingredient and review app, published a post-Rejuran product guide built from its users’ ratings. Combined with Creatrip’s Korean pharmacy picks for after skin procedures, a clear pattern shows up: boring, fragrance-free, single-job products.
| Job | What it looks like | Korean examples |
|---|---|---|
| Soothe | Aloe gel, panthenol (B5), centella/cica | Aromatica Soothing Aloe Vera Gel; numbuzin Pantothenic B5 Active Soothing Serum; Dr.Jart+ Cicapair Intensive Soothing Repair Cream |
| Repair | Ceramide + cholesterol + fatty acid creams | Aestura Atobarrier365 Cream; Zeroid Intensive Cream; Physiogel Daily Moisture Therapy Facial Cream |
| Hydrate (lightly) | Heartleaf toner, low-molecular hyaluronic acid | Anua Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner; Torriden Dive-In Soothing Cream; Etude SoonJung Hydro Barrier Cream |
| Protect | Mineral or barrier-focused sunscreen | Aestura DermaUV365 Mineral Sunscreen; Zeroid Moisture Repair Sunscreen; Dr.G Green Mild Up Sun Plus |
Notice what’s missing: no peels, no fragranced “glass skin” essences, no 10-step routine. The highest-rated barrier pick on Hwahae’s list, Aestura Atobarrier365 Cream (ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids), is a plain derma-brand cream rather than a trend product, and that’s exactly the point.
Can you use PDRN skincare right after Rejuran?
PDRN creams and ampoules are everywhere right now, including Rejuran’s own cosmetic line. It’s tempting to think a PDRN cream “tops up” the injection. Keep expectations separate:
| Rejuran Healer (in clinic) | PDRN cream or ampoule (at home) | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Injected polynucleotides | Cosmetic applied on the skin’s surface |
| Typical cost | About ₩1.1–1.6 million in Korea (roughly $800–$1,200), per Korea Clinic Guide | About $36–$45 for Rejuran’s 60 g Derma Healer Moisture Cream at a US K-beauty retailer |
| Role after treatment | Does the actual work over weeks | A comfortable moisturizer once skin has calmed |
A gentle, fragrance-free PDRN cream can be a perfectly nice repair-step moisturizer. One US retailer selling Rejuran’s cream suggests sticking to water or saline on days 1–2 after a procedure and using the cream from day 3. If your PDRN product is an ampoule packed with other actives or fragrance, save it for the following week.
Three Seoul-insider habits worth stealing
- Book for Friday afternoon. An Australian dermatologist’s guide suggests late-week appointments so the bumps are gone by Monday.
- Skip the jjimjilbang. Creatrip specifically warns against saunas and Korean bathhouses while post-procedure redness is settling. If you’re visiting Seoul for treatment, schedule the spa day before, not after.
- Plan the series, not one session. Clinics commonly recommend about three or four sessions roughly four weeks apart, so set up your SPF habit and barrier routine for the whole stretch, not just the first night.
Rejuran aftercare FAQ
Can I wear makeup after Rejuran?
Most clinics ask you to skip makeup on the day of treatment. After that, follow your clinic’s timing; once the injection points have closed and your skin feels calm, light, gentle makeup is usually fine.
When can I use retinol after Rejuran?
Not right away. Wait until redness, heat and stinging are completely gone, then reintroduce it slowly. For most people that means at least several days; your clinic may give a specific number.
How long do Rejuran bumps last?
Clinic sources describe them settling within about one to two days. Bruising is less common and can take longer. If something looks unusual or gets worse, contact your clinic.
Do I need special Rejuran-brand products afterward?
No. Hwahae’s own aftercare list is mostly other brands: a soothing gel, a ceramide cream and a gentle sunscreen cover the essentials.
